Aboriginal Health Outreach Worker

 

Area of responsibility: to ensure that the health needs of the Aboriginal community are addressed by undertaking health promotion, education, referrals and linking with Aboriginal culture resource people and mainstream health providers.

 

Qualifications:

 

§  College Diploma in the Social Services field

§  Previous experience in working with Aboriginal people

§  Knowledge of health care system

§  Knowledge of Cree language an asset

NATIVE INMATE LIAISON OFFICER


 

Job Summary: The position will be responsible for the development and delivery of culturally relevant human and community programs for Aboriginal offenders in the Monteith

Correctional Complex to enable their effective re-entry into the community.


 

Qualifications:  College Diploma such as Social Service Worker, Drug and Alcohol Worker or related discipline and experience working with Aboriginal peoples

                        

Knowledge of aboriginal culture and general lifestyle of Aboriginal people.


 

Good written and oral communications skills


 

Ability to speak Cree


 

Valid Ontario driver’s license
