You have some personal
work to do while you are at Mee-Quam Youth
Residence serving your sentence/detention.
During the Case Management Meeting, an
individualized plan will be developed with
you. The plan will address those areas of
your life that have resulted in your being
sentenced to custody. They will become your
goals to meet your needs. Staff will support
you by arranging to have you involved in the
programs that will meet your needs. Some of
these programs, Mee-Quam staff are ‘expert’
at providing for you. Other programs that
you may need will be arranged with the
people who have the expertise in the
community to give you what you need to
support you in getting your life on track.
When you leave Mee-Quam Youth Residence at
the end of your sentence, you will have had
the opportunity to learn new ways to manage
your old problems of the past.
Examples of services that
can be arranged to support your individual
needs include:
Alcohol and drug
addiction counseling
Mental health
issues
Gambling
School re-entry
Literacy
And others as
identified in Risk Needs Assessments
during the Case Management Planning.
Tell us what you need and we’ll work hard
to get it for you!
