Mee-Quam Youth Residence
staff are here to carry out the court’s
disposition order through setting reasonable
rules and limits and the provision of
programming meaningful to you. This will
provide opportunities for you to live your
life differently after your release from
custody or detention. Supervision from Mee-Quam
Youth Residence staff will occur on a
continuous basis by ensuring the program and
rules of the house are followed. Staff is
here to provide positive adult support to
you in facing up to your present situation,
putting it behind you, and being able to
move forward.
Prime Worker: All Mee-Quam Youth
Residence staff are involved in your care
while your serve you custody sentence or
detention remand; however one staff will be
named as your Prime Worker and will be
responsible for ensuring that everything
that needs to be done for you gets done. For
instance, your Prime Worker will ensure that
appointments are made for a medical or for
dental work, if required. They will ensure
that any arrangements for visits are made,
you have proper clothing and that
individualized programs that you may
want/need are available to you.
Secondary Worker:
Secondary Workers will also be assigned for
you so that when your Prime Worker is not
working, the Secondary Worker is there for
you; so that what you need to be done for
you is done without delay.
